The role: We’re looking for a strategic and driven Clients & Markets Manager to support the business development function for our market-leading Banking & Financial Services (B&FS) and Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I) practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with leading partners on some of the most high-profile and complex matters in the market. You'll play a central role in driving strategic growth initiatives, deepening key client relationships, and delivering impactful pursuit and profile-raising campaigns. You will work closely with the other business development managers in the Transactions Stream, including those for Corporate, M&A and Capital Markets, Tax and Technology. and be supported by a national pool of Advisers and Coordinators. This role reports to the Senior Manager – Transactions Stream. Key responsibilities: Set and execute strategic BD plans for the B&FS / R&I practice in line with the firm’s 2023–2026 strategy. Partner with senior stakeholders to identify, pursue and convert growth opportunities. Lead and support high-value pursuits and client engagement initiatives, including panel pitches and relationship development activities. Drive profile-raising efforts through market insights, targeted campaigns, and media engagement. Support the development and marketing of emerging service areas and industry-focused initiatives. Mentor and guide more junior team members across the Transactions Stream. Contribute to broader firmwide strategic initiatives and cross-practice collaboration. Act as a champion for the C&M function, strengthening its role as a trusted advisor to the business. What we’re looking for: Tertiary qualifications in business, law, finance or a related discipline. Significant experience in client development or strategic business development, ideally within a legal or professional services environment. Proven ability to work proactively and autonomously with senior stakeholders. Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes. Team leadership and mentoring experience. A resilient, adaptable mindset and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
