Our client is a well-known and highly reputable service provider to the mining, energy and industrial sectors. Due to growth, we’re seeking a Workshop Leading Hand to join their team in the Hunter Valley. The ideal candidate will be mechanically trade qualified and will provide guidance and support to the workshop teams to ensure quality, revenue and deadline targets are met. You will be customer service focused with the ability to communicate effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and the continuation of strong client relationships. This role will be a 50/50 split between hands-on and office based work. What we're looking for: Mechanical Trade qualification eg Fitter, Heavy Vehicle, plant mechanic Previous experience in a leading hand or supervisory role Ability to mentor staff and achieve productivity levels and morale Experience with communicating with customers, quoting and negotiating Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite Be experienced installation of equipment with the ability for fault finding Preventative/planned maintenance Experience working on industrial or manufacturing processing/production lines Experience with pneumatic and hydraulics equipment Ability to troubleshoot Assembly and disassembly of components Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude Strong focus and commitment to Safety with the ability to follow Policies and Procedures Benefits: Full-time permanent position Attractive hourly rate (from $50 to $55 per hour depending experience and qualifications) allowances Monday to Friday roster Company car Opportunity for as much or as little overtime at penalty rates Further training and development A great team culture You will be required to conduct a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol test.
