General Description
The Vice President of Construction provides strategic leadership and executive oversight for all construction operations across the organization. This role is critical to ensuring project excellence, operational efficiency, and long-term business growth. The VP is responsible for overseeing project execution, driving profitability, fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external partners and championing a high-performance culture. This individual will play a central role in generating sales, strategic planning, organizational development, and delivering on McCoy Rockford’s vision for excellence in construction services.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Establish and cultivate a high-performing, customer-centric culture across all construction operations to enable the team to exceed sales goals and deliver exemplary customer service
- Develop and execute strategy for achieving annual sales goals
- Lead the organizational transformation necessary to meet evolving customer expectations and market demands.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, buying “influencers”, key stakeholders, including general contractors, architects, designers, project managers, and strategic vendors to stay ahead of market trends and support business development.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute a strategic vision for the construction department, aligning with McCoy Rockford’s overall mission and goals.
- Consistently communicate the vision and engage team members in its execution to drive alignment and accountability.
- Develop and track key performance metrics to measure productivity, effectiveness, and project outcomes.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes, tools, and procedures to increase efficiency and ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Leverage technology and available systems to streamline operations and enhance project delivery.
- Lead customer engagement efforts by facilitating proactive, two-way communication to understand expectations and implement data-driven strategies for improved service.
- Oversee risk management activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Monitor and manage financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) for construction projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and organizational profitability.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety, quality, and collaboration across all teams and functions.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff to build a high-performing team; take timely corrective actions in alignment with HR policies when needed.

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS
Work Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with architectural and technology solutions such as: moveable and demountable wall systems and/or Construction field
Education/Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s in Construction Management or related discipline.
- Executive-level experience in a growing or multi-site construction organization.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED AP.
- Experience implementing operational excellence or lean construction methodologies.
Other/Preferred
- Must be able to build relationships with external clients, vendors, and internal clients
- Must have superior leaderships skills and the ability to develop and inspire employees while holding them accountable
