We are about to embark on a significant transformation project and are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to help lead and support a dedicated team. This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant in the outer South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, VIC. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. They will also lead the accounting team, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to strategic financial decision-making. Responsibilities: Team Management : Mentor and manage 2-3 direct reports. Financial Management : Oversee end-to-end financial processes. Reporting : Prepare monthly management reports, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and provide P&L analysis commentary. Asset Management : Ensure asset setup and depreciation comply with accounting standards and company policy. Compliance : Complete statutory compliance requirements (BAS, TPA, etc.). Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in preparing financial budgets and forecasts. Year-End Preparation : Coordinate year-end financial accounts and audit prep. Process Improvement : Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and internal controls. Procurement Collaboration : Manage cycle counting with the procurement team. Accounts Payable : Oversee the AP function and ensure accurate project allocation of invoices. Subcontractor Management : Handle subcontractor payments and maintain the retention register. Supplier Agreement Review : Assess supplier agreements for risk and business impact. Project Support : Manage bank guarantees for projects and collaborate with the project team and CEO. Experience Required: CPA/CA qualified. Minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Proficient in financial/commercial reporting with high accuracy. Familiarity with MYOB and Pronto ERP systems (or similar). Background in manufacturing or construction sectors. Skills: Exceptional attention to detail. Objective approach during reporting. Strong technical accounting knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including financial modelling. Strong time management abilities. Effective team player with relationship-building skills
