Mai-Wel is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Services Finance team. About the Role As our Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function to deliver timely and accurate financial information. Reporting to the Financial Accountant and supported by the Senior Finance Manager, you will manage core accounting responsibilities including: General ledger reconciliations and journal entries (EOM and EOFY) Financial reporting and compliance (AASB, ATO, ABS) Cash management including banking, investments, and cashflow Management and project accounting reports Credit card expense oversight Skills And Experiences What You’ll Bring ✔ A degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or Economics ✔ At least 2 years' experience in a similar accounting role ✔ Strong reconciliation and reporting capabilities ✔ Excellent communication and time management skills ✔ Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Business Central/Navision desirable) ✔ Understanding of Australian regulatory and compliance standards Desirable Progress toward CA or CPA qualifications Experience in the Human Services sector (Disability, Health, Aged Care, etc.) Awareness of NDIS or other government-funded services Why Work with Us?
