About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and strategic finance professional to join our team as a Financial Performance Accountant . This role is pivotal in maintaining long-term financial sustainability across Council by delivering comprehensive financial analysis, pricing models, and strategic forecasts. Key responsibilities include maintaining the QTC 10-Year Long Term Forecast Model, preparing budgeted financial statements, supporting the development of financial sustainability strategies, and leading the delivery of Full Cost Pricing models in accordance with National Competition Policy. The role also involves assisting departments with operational and capital budgeting, conducting funding reconciliations (loans, reserves, grants), and partnering with business units to deliver informed financial decisions. Strong legislative interpretation, advanced Excel and modelling skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments are critical to success in this role. About You Mandatory: Tertiary qualifications in Business/Accounting/Commerce or equivalent. High level of proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills Demonstrated experience in the interrogation of financial systems for the provision of specialist strategic financial advice and business analysis to management and employees in a confidential and sensitive manner. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex, sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to apply high-level negotiation and facilitation skills to form collaborative solutions and assist in implementing appropriate strategic responses. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify opportunities to improve financial performance. Desired: Demonstrated experience in financial management of National Competition principles. Experience and understanding of long-term sustainability planning in a Local Government environment.
