In this position based at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria, you will join a high performing Finance team and be responsible for preparing and maintaining timely and accurate financial information to satisfy the reporting needs and decision making requirements of internal and external stakeholders. In 2025, the Financial Accounting function will continue the transition of certain tasks to the Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Philippines as part of Headquarters End-to-End project. The Senior Financial Accountant will play a fundamental role in ensuring the transition of tasks is seamless and implement KPI reporting to assist in the monitoring of the output of the SSC team. As part of this transition, the function will also be implementing the automation of Balance Sheet Reconciliations through a new application, Blackline. Also in 2025, we will be migrating OneSource Statutory Reporting System from desktop application to Cloud based. The system that is currently being used for the preparation of the Financial Statements. Key duties & responsibilities : Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, your key responsibilities will include: · Support with monthly profit and loss and balance sheet reports for management and controlling department · Involvement of monthly reporting under IFRS for submission to Headquarters · Controlling all uploads into the Pre-Owned Vehicle Management system and ensuring correct postings into the system · Data validation into Lease Management System and monthly reconciliation · Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts and preparation of month end stock reports · Assisting with timely execution of financial closing procedures · Processing fixed asset requisitions, disposals and transfers · Supporting with preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reports · Supporting with external audits · Monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts · Reconcile and report on assigned general ledger accounts for SAP · Offer accounting advice to business units on an ad hoc basis · Provide support to the Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Cebu, Philippines, including review of journals, reconciliations, and management reporting What you will need to be successful : · Degree qualified in a business, finance or accounting discipline · Either CA or CPA qualified · Strong understanding of the accounting principles and how they apply to a commercial setting · Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to work closely with a variety of key stakeholders · Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills as well as the ability to manage and juggle competing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment · Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel · Experience using SAP would be highly regarded but not essential · Minimum 5 years of experience Why you should apply : · Join a large, global organisation dedicated to inclusivity and diversity and exposure to working with colleagues all around the world. · Enjoy flexible working arrangements to support you in your career, work and life. · Enjoy free on-site parking, discounting car leasing, on-site gym, on-site cafe and other great benefits. · Mercedes-Benz is a strong advocate for professional development, offering leadership programs and travel to high performing individuals Please note, you must hold a valid working visa for Australia/New Zealand to be eligible to apply for this position.
