The Organisation Small ASX listed group with operations in Australia and overseas. The Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, as Company Accountant you will work in a small team of 5, responsible for the day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for the Australian business and group consolidation. This role has the very real potential and direct pathway to become Financial Controller in the next 1 to 2 years, so a driven and ambitious person is needed. As Company Accountant you will ensure accuracy and integrity of financials for processing & end of year support working with the Financial Controller and external accountants. You will provide monthly Department P&L review support and financial management support for functional / departmental leads, assisting them with identifying areas for improvement, investigating areas where necessary and highlighting concerns to management. Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet reports for Australia using Dynamics Business Central ERP, including month-end reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts GL journals, intercompany, recharges etc. Transfer Pricing R&D Grants Maintaining company’s Fixed Asset register Statutory Reporting Calculation and lodgment of quarterly BAS, FBT Processing of payroll and all payroll related taxation requirements with meeting strict reporting deadlines Work closely with stakeholders on Profit Lines, Revenue and Costs to assist them in having accurate data. Assisting with Budgeting and forecasting Support managers with understanding their Profit & Loss within Departments, driving accurate, efficient data knowledge. Assist in audit and year end reconciliations, liaise with external accountants as required Coordinate bank deposits and reconciliation, in order to report financial results on a regular basis to management, ensuring positive cash flow balances and working together with Finance manager to ensure accurate cashflow forecast. Regularly review and monitor finance processes to identify process improvements, and gaps in order to improve efficiency. Support and be backup for Accounts Payable and Receivable. What you will need to bring to bring to be successful: CA/CPA 7 years’ experience working in a similar role. Inventory Management Transfer pricing Proficiency in Dynamics ERP highly desired. ASX experience desired (but not essential). R&D Grants experience beneficial Experience in payroll (light touch) High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel with modeling skills being an advantage. A strong process improvement mindset to drive efficiencies and create / document robust policies & procedures.
