THE ROLE The Systems Accountant is responsible for leading the enhancement and optimisation of financial systems and processes to support business operations. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role acts as a key liaison between finance, operations, and external consultants, driving continuous improvement in ERP functionality and reporting capabilities. The role involves managing system upgrades, coordinating change management initiatives, and delivering training to ensure effective system use across teams. Strong project management, technical proficiency in ERP systems (particularly Viewpoint Jobpac), and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration are essential. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are seeking people who possess: Strong project management and change management skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach. Experience within the construction industry (preferably in minor projects or similar complex environments). Demonstrated experience in systems accounting roles. Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Viewpoint Jobpac; high-level Excel skills; and experience with Power BI is advantageous. Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and provide training/support to end users. High attention to detail, with strong documentation and communication skills. Mandatory requirements within this role include; Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Management Accounting, Business Analysis, or Systems Accounting. Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Experience using Viewpoint Jobpac or similar ERP system. Experience managing or supporting reporting tools such as Power BI is an advantage. Responsibilities include; Maintain and manage a schedule of financial system enhancements in line with business priorities. Coordinate and lead change management initiatives related to ERP system, process changes, and user adoption. Act as the primary liaison between finance and operational teams for system improvement projects. Engage with external consultants to ensure best-practice outcomes. Support system configuration to improve project analysis and reporting capabilities Assist with the design and delivery of training and documentation to ensure effective use of financial systems across teams. Champion process improvements across accounts receivable, procure-to-pay, payroll, and job/project reporting workflows.
