About the Role: As a Property Accountant based in their Brisbane office, you will be an integral part of the financial management team, responsible for handling accounting functions across a diverse property portfolio. Software Experience: BuilderTrend Commercial Construction – Procore Key Responsibilities: Bank Reconciliations & Cashflow: Ensure daily reconciliation and efficient cashflow management. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee payments and collections to ensure smooth operations. Intercompany Reconciliations: Manage and balance intercompany accounts accurately. Fixed Asset Registers: Reconcile and maintain registers for accurate asset tracking. Month-End Closures: Process monthly journals and assist with timely month-end closing. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in balance sheets. Business Activity Statements: Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly BAS. FBT Returns: Assist in preparing Fringe Benefits Tax returns. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly accounts and ensure accurate reporting. Year-End Reports: Help with annual workpapers for financial statements and tax filings. Collaboration: Work closely with finance, development teams, and external stakeholders to streamline operations. Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide analytical support and additional reporting as needed. What We're Looking For: Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Certification: CA or CPA qualification (or working towards it). Experience: 5 years in accounting, with property development or construction industry experience preferred. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of property-specific accounting principles. Software Proficiency: Experience using XERO. Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian taxation laws, including GST, Income Tax, and FBT. Investment Structures: Understanding of tax implications related to investment structures. Financial Analysis: Proficient in reporting and data analysis, especially using spreadsheets. Multi-tasking: Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and a flexible approach to problem-solving.
