THE OPPORTUNITY This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the firm’s offices in North QLD as an Intermediate Accountant, where you will work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in accounting and business services. Reporting to the Tax and Business Services Partner, you will assist with preparing financial statements, managing client records and supporting the tax compliance process. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in preparing financial statements and tax returns for a diverse range of clients Support the team in managing client accounts and ensuring accurate record-keeping Contribute to tax compliance tasks, including BAS preparation and lodgement Collaborate with senior accountants to develop your skills in financial analysis and reporting Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to enhance your accounting knowledge EXPERIENCE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Degree-qualified or nearing completion in accounting or a related field Some experience (1-2 years) in tax in a CA or CPA accounting firm Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Willingness to learn and grow within the firm Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software is a plus THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Will enjoy A competitive salary Being part of a large team with diverse skills to share offering potential for growth A supportive and collaborative work environment A strong emphasis on work-life balance - finish work and goes fishing, scuba diving or hit the scrub A firm with a strong focus on community and family values Please note: This job is based in Australia therefore, only candidates who are permanent residents or citizens of Australia will be considered.
