Job Overview
As an Assistant Construction Manager, you work closely with the Construction Manager to handle the day-to-day on specific projects related to the renovation, new construction, and various capex projects of a multi-million dollar, multifamily apartment home community.
Roles You Will Play
The Builder
- Know how to incorporate super intricate construction elements into fully functioning multifamily homes, including envelope sealing, mechanical systems, insulation, energy efficiency, windows, and siding
- Familiar with accepted building practices including techniques, code requirements, market pricing, and permitting processes
- Prefer a job that allows you to wear steel-toe boots, hard hats, and work gloves
- Assist the Construction Manager on due diligence walks – assessing renovation needs, estimating repair costs, and writing out summaries of overall property conditions
The Task Master
- Work with Construction Manager to plan special projects, generate take-offs, update stakeholders, and maintain project logs
- Track change order requests, respond to feedback from property management personnel, prepare reports, and share overall project goals and details with senior managers
- Check items off your to-do list all day long, while managing countless details like a whiz
- Assist with the delivery of quality projects that meet all time and budgetary restrictions
- Help the Construction Manager with design tasks, including schematic drawings, 100% construction drawings, specification sheets, and scope/price documents
The Talent Scout
- Assist the procurement of construction services, including contract award and buyout
- Enjoy searching high and low for valuable employee and contractor additions to your team
- Create a welcoming environment for new team members, ensuring them a smooth ride for the duration of their contract
- Coordinate and inspect contractors’ work, identifying things that could be done in a cheaper, safer, cleaner, or more efficient manner

Building Blocks of Success
- Stellar record in real estate, specifically in the construction field
- Proven project coordination skills for each stage of construction and renovation

- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Engineering, Business Management, or Architecture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Project) and Timberline
