POSITION TITLE: Beverage Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Bistro and Functions
REPORTS TO: General manager
LOCATION: The Field Bar Rose bay
POSITION PURPOSE
You play a key role in leading the management of the beverage service in both the ground floor bistro and upstairs function space. Reporting to the General Manager you will be tasked in delivering a growing, sustainable and profitable venue.
Through maximising revenue, effective cost management, team development and always delivering a quality guest experience. In this leadership role you work alongside other managers to ensure the seamless interaction amongst the team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
➢ Proven experience working in hospitality / customer service environment.
➢ Previous experience within a pub, restaurant or Members club environment preferred.
➢ Exhibit a strong passion for hospitality
➢ Exceptional organisation and problem solving skills;
➢ Excellent presentation and grooming standards.
➢ Previous experience with functions and events preferred.
➢ Experience in family friendly environments and dealing with children preferred
➢ Previous hosting experience preferred including bookings management
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
➢ Adequate Knowledge in food and beverage
➢ Basic Microsoft office / G-suite skills skills;
➢ Knowledge of POS and end of day reconciliation procedures;
➢ Knowledge of using online reservations systems
➢ Attention to detail and accuracy .
➢ Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & GOALS
BUSINESS
➢ Assist with ensuring the Food Beverage team abide the Field guidelines excelling at customer service being top priority
➢ Ensure the success of all events within The Field and that runsheets are fulfilled.
➢ Supervise the Food and Beverage team to ensure service is provided as the field service expectations and RSA Requirements.
➢ Communicate effectively with the Kitchen team during service periods.
➢ Ensure floor and bar staff staff take meals break / rest breaks as required under current legislation if tasked with this.
➢ Ensure Bistro staff have shift instructions regarding bookings and events.
➢ Assist with the planning, set up and execution of events and functions including kids parties and corporate events.
➢ Book and confirm guest reservations as required.
➢ Allocate and plan table plans for service
➢ Ensure the Bistro and bar and function spaces is presented to an impeccable standard at all times;
➢ Resolve guest grievances tactfully and promptly, escalating to management should these be required.
➢ Communicate Bistro / function achievements / challenges to your line Manager;
➢ Forge loyal relationships with guests to promote repeated clientele;
➢ Reconciliation of EFTPOS and cash preparation of float and balance of
takings;
➢ Remain updated with the Food and Beverage departments budgets and targets;
➢Stay up to date with food items allergens and ingredients and advise customers as their needs require.
➢ Ensure out of stock food and beverage items are communicated effectively with the Food and beverage team during service periods.
➢ Ensure the Food and Beverage Department is adequately staffed at all times; including sending of staff early when required.
➢ Ensure Venue is set up in accordance with guidelines, and presented to an impeccable standard at all times;
➢ Complete Shift Handover briefing with Supervisors/ managers at end and start of shift
➢ Maximise and identify opportunities to sell products that suit the needs of our guests;
➢ Offer innovative suggestions to promote the bistro and bar and functions.
➢ Work productively within your rostered hours & are flexible to work additional hours to meet the needs of the business;
➢ Undertake Food & Beverage Manager’s duties during their absence is required.
➢ Attend any training or meetings as required;
➢ All other duties as required by Management.
