Position Summary
The Interiors Coordinator is responsible for leading field operations on Interiors Division projects. This position is a working supervisor position with responsibilities split between supervising and self-performing carpentry. The Interiors Coordinator is a hands-on leader who coordinates subcontractors, supports self-perform crews, enforces safety and quality standards, and maintains clear communication with the project team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced field environment and is committed to operational excellence and team development.
Position Description
- Lead all onsite construction activities for projects ranging from $500K to $1M. Ensure safe, high-quality, on-schedule, and on-budget project execution.
- Drive AWC safety culture with jobsite orientations, ongoing enforcement and monitoring, and immediate incident response
- Set clear productivity expectations and mentor carpenters to achieve labor savings and strong performance
- Coordinate subcontractors, inspections, materials, and site logistics to maintain workflow and cleanliness
- Review and manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and ensure quality installations that meet design intent
- Maintain and track project schedules using short-term planning and weekly coordination meetings
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and Field Operations Manager to forecast manpower and resource needs
- Lead daily reporting, cost tracking, and ensure accurate timekeeping for all onsite personnel
- Represent AWC in Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings and maintain strong trade partner relationships
- Uphold company standards for professionalism, workmanship, and accountability across the project site
- When needed/appropriate, utilize tools to self-perform work on the jobsite.
Position Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction
- 2+ years’ experience as a foreman leading crews on a commercial jobsite
- Strong carpentry skills with hands-on experience in self-perform work and task planning
- High proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Typical schedule is M-F 7-3:30, with flexibility to work OT as needed for the project (could involve nights and weekends)
