Job Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Administrator to support their construction projects and ensure smooth operations across all stages. The ideal candidate will have been exposed to construction processes, have excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage project documentation, communications, and administrative tasks. You will be working closely with project managers, contractors, and other team members to help maintain project timelines and budgets while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize all construction project documents, including contracts, change orders, drawings, permits, and inspection reports. Ensure that all documents are updated and accessible to the project team.
- Act as the primary point of contact between project teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Facilitate communication and resolve administrative issues as they arise.
- Assist with contract preparation, review, and management. Ensure that contractors and vendors adhere to contract terms and conditions.
- Assist in maintaining construction schedules, track project timelines, and report any delays or issues to the project manager. Ensure deadlines are met and resources are utilized efficiently.
- Assist in tracking project expenses, change orders, and vendor invoices. Work with the accounting department to ensure timely payments and stay within budget.
- Ensure that all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and remain up to date. Help with ensuring that the construction project complies with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Coordinate the ordering of materials, equipment, and supplies required for the project. Track inventory and ensure that all resources are available when needed.
- Assist with any additional administrative tasks required to support project completion, including filing reports, managing correspondence, and handling project-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in construction administration or related field.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software.
- Knowledge of construction terminology, processes, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred but not required -
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost management.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and permit processes.
- OSHA certification or knowledge of construction safety regulations.
