As the Facilities Assistant, you will be responsible for effectively responding to all issues that affect the Facilities of PPGNY Region 2, as well as assisting in other regions as needed.
Additional responsibilities include: - Oversee building and ground maintenance including housekeeping, yard maintenance, moving furniture and any other special projects
- Analyze building needs and recommend solutions within financial constraints and be responsible for building repairs including but not limited to: carpentry work and repair, change light fixtures and ballasts, minor HVAC repairs, minor plumbing repairs, roof inspections, prep and paint walls as needed, major plumbing and roofing repairs
- Supervise external contractors during capital improvements; Checks completed work by vendors and contractors
- Responsible for overseeing the work of cleaning personnel as required
- Install and change locks and doors as needed or outsource work to appropriate vendor
- Prioritize and respond to emergent situations, analyze and take appropriate action which may include outsourcing the work and maintain and efficiently respond to tickets
- Performing audits and inspections at the direction of Facilities Management Team
You Have:- High School diploma or GED
- Professional knowledge may be obtained through formal education and/or through work experience
- Prior work experience: at least 5 years prior work experience in the areas of construction, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC
- Current Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
- Ability to use power tools.
- This is a full-time position located within Oneida County New York, and involves travel within the County and New York State about 70% of the time. Primary travel will be between the Rome and Utica locations with travel to other regional locations approximately 10% of the time
- Valid NYS issued driver’s license
