Ascot Group is seeking experienced Qualified Carpenter to join our team in Sydney. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing various wooden structures, fixtures, and fittings. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects working around Greater Sydney.

What you’ll be doing

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
Measure, cut, and assemble wooden components to construct structures such as walls, floors, roofs, and staircases
Ideally has plastering skills
Install and repair cabinets, shelves, doors, windows, and other wooden fixtures
Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively to complete tasks
Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure seamless project coordination
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the industry, preferably in commercial work
Strong technical skills in reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden components
Proficiency in the use of power tools and hand tools, with a focus on safety
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address challenges on the job
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with other tradespeople
Commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment
Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
